Bruno Montezano holds a master’s degree in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2023), is a computer technician from the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul (2015) and a psychologist (CRP 07/38086) from the Catholic University of Pelotas (2021). He is currently studying for a PhD in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and works as a researcher at the Molecular Psychiatry Laboratory and Clinical Research Center at the Hospital de ClÃnicas de Porto Alegre (HCPA/UFRGS).
He has a scholarship from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) under the Academic Excellence Program (Proex). Bruno Montezano has extensive experience in quantitative data analysis and statistical computing, with experience in the areas of machine learning and mental health outcomes.
In 2025, he co-founded Método Science, a company that aims to offer training and solutions in data analysis and health research. He has published in several high-impact scientific journals in the field of psychiatry. He is director and member of the AlliaNCE (Artificial Intelligence in Neuroscience) research group coordinated by Dr. Ives Cavalcante Passos. In May 2023, he received the Mitacs Globalink Research Award to be funded for an internship at McMaster University in Canada to work on the interface between women’s mental health and machine learning. Since June 2023, he has also been an assistant editor at the Brazilian Journal of Psychiatry. In the second half of 2023, he presented the results of his dissertation on the interface between bipolar disorder and artificial intelligence techniques at the 25th Annual Conference of the International Society for Bipolar Disorders (ISBD) in Chicago (USA). At the end of 2024, he won the FAMED 2024 Best Dissertation award at an event that honored the best theses and dissertations defended between 2023 and 2024 in the Graduate Programs of the UFRGS School of Medicine.
